This customer recently purchased a new home. The builder of the new home did not offer an option to have a door installed between the master bedroom and master bathroom. Nesco Construction went out and met with the customers at their new home while under construction to look at the project. They explained their concerns about using an 8’ tall door to hopefully hold the retrofitting cost to a minimum. We explained to them that an 8’ door would look out of place compared to the other 6-8 tall doors that are in the rest of their home. Nesco Construction suggested doing a transom of obscure glass above the door so light could still pass through into the bedroom area but, have the door for the privacy. The new door was matched to the existing door style. Door hardware and paint colors were also matched to the rest of the house. What a wonderful addition to a beautiful new home! Thank you for allowing Nesco Construction to help you with your project!

Customer had an existing den area that had a finished opening without any kind of doors. They wanted to be able to have doors installed into the opening to close off the room from the rest of the house for occasional house guests to have privacy. The opening height would be able to accommodate 8' tall doors but, the natural light that comes in through the front window would not be seen any longer if the doors were shut. Nesco Construction proposed installing a clear transom above the doors for the light to still come through when the new doors are closed. Now, they have the best of both worlds! Please contact us to schedule an appointment to look at your project.

Nesco Construction dealt with a common concern or complaint. Our customer purchased a beautiful new home recently. There is no door to separate the master bedroom from the master bathroom. The solution to this concern/complaint was a pair of sliding doors that cover the opening between the master bedroom and master bathroom. This way if your significant other is in the master bathroom before you get up, they can close the doors and not bother you with light from the vanity area of the master bathroom. Or if you just want to shower in private without having to close off the master bedroom to do so. Nesco Construction painted the doors before installation and matched the existing paint color throughout the rest of the house. The installation of the sliding doors was completed in one day. If you have a similar type of concern, please contact Nesco Construction to schedule an appointment to come out to your home and look at your project.
This customer is located in a high rise condominium. Their project provided some very unique challenges. The customer wanted to change the entry doors on their unit from the doors that were provided when the project was built. The existing doors had a 20 minute fire-rating. The mortise body lock on the active door was also electrified and connected to the fire alarm system for the entire building. For this project, Nesco Construction provided a variety of different door designs to choose from. The door design that was eventually selected were solid doors with raised panels. The new doors were then built to the specifications of the existing doors so the new doors could be hung on the existing metal jamb. Our customer wanted to have frosted glass in the new doors. The center panel has obscure glass that has a 20 minute fire-rating. The raised panels and glass provided a challenge for the raceway that is required to run the low voltage wire for the electrified mortise body lock through the door. In the after picture, you will see the new doors installed with new door hardware. The new doors have a 20 minute fire-rating with obscure glass. The new mortise body lock is also electrified. Overall, the project was a success!
This customer wanted to replace the entry door and back door on her home. The existing entry door was wood and as you will be able to see from the before picture not very well maintained over several years. The door did not have a threshold, door sweep or weatherstripping so it was not able to seal when closed to keep the weather out. The new entry door is fiberglass with an oak woodgrain and has been stained so it will look more like wood. The new door comes pre-hung in a new jamb with new hinges, adjustable threshold, and weatherstripping. With this new entry door, the curb appeal of this customer's home has changed dramatically! For the back door, a smooth fiberglass door was used. The new door has a window in the top half of the door that is able to open and close. There is also a screen on the window to keep the bugs out when the window is open. The bottom half of the new door has a pet door in it for the customer's two dogs to use. In the before picture, you will see that the old door was in pretty bad shape. In the after picture, the new door makes a huge difference! With having a threshold and door sweep the new door seals at the bottom when shut. Weatherstripping is installed into the new door jamb for the door to seal against when it is shut. This prevents the loss of conditioned air from the inside of the home. Also makes it harder for bugs, dirt, and debris to enter into your home.
This customer had a standard six-panel metal door that was typical for track housing depending when it was built. The new entry door is fiberglass with multi-point locking door hardware. This means that there are two additional locking points in addition to the deadbolt. There is one near the top of the door and one near the bottom of the door. The new fiberglass door has been stained with the door manufacturer's stain kit so it looks like a wood door. The curb appeal of this home has changed considerably! The new door is more secure with the multi-point lock than just a deadbolt lock like was on the old door.
This customer had an existing den area that they wanted to enclose to make a private room with a closet. There was also an opening that they wanted made into a niche. After meeting with the customers and listening to what they wanted to do, Nesco Construction came up with a plan for the door for the entrance to the room. And also a closet for the room. As you will see from the before and after pictures, everything turned out great! A pot shelf was built on top of the closet so that the very detailed crown molding would not have to be disturbed. Please contact Nesco Construction to meet with you and look at your project.
This customer had an existing 8' wide by 8' tall sliding glass door that the home builder had installed on his home. The active panel of the sliding glass door did not want to slide any longer with all of the weight of the glass. Nesco Construction met with the customer. We listened to what he wanted to replace the sliding glass door with. Nesco Construction provided two different options as a replacement to the sliding glass door. Both options were hinged patio doors made from smooth fiberglass. The first option was to have white mini blinds between the glass on the two door panels and fixed sidelite panels. This is a popular option for past customers. The other option was to have simulated grids on top of the glass. Our customer chose to have the simulated grids on top of the glass as you will see in the pictures. Nesco Construction was able to remove the sliding glass door without damaging any stucco. We are also different than other contractors as we have the painting completed on the new patio door unit before installation. This means that once the door unit is installed, the paint can be touched up and the project is usually completed in one day. Please contact Nesco Construction to provide you with an estimate for your new hinged patio door.
This customer had two existing windows on the back wall of their home. They wanted to change the two existing windows to larger windows and add an additional window of the bigger size for a total of 3 windows. Nesco Construction was able to remove the two existing windows and retrofit the openings to the larger window size. At the same time, we also added a new opening for the third window. Nesco Construction supplied and installed the new windows for the openings. The interior required new drywall to be installed. The drywall was taped and textured in order to match the existing interior finish as close as possible. The crown molding was reinstalled. The baseboard was reinstalled. The new windows were cased to match the rest of the house. On the exterior the lath and stucco were repaired at the new windows. Both of the interior and exterior were painted as you will be able to see in the after pictures. The project went great from start to finish! Our customer is happy with how everything turned out!

The tenants are happy to have new entry doors that have no glass in them so that they are more secure.

In the master bedroom of this home, a previous owner had a large window removed and a much smaller window installed. Our customers wanted to have a hinged patio door installed in the exterior wall to access the back yard. What a difference the new doors make for the amount of natural light into the master bedroom! The overall feel of the whole master bedroom is incredible now!
The sliding glass door in this home was the original door from when the home was built in 1986. The active panel did not move back and forth properly or correctly seal against the fixed door panel. The glass, although dual pane, is not up to the energy efficiency of today's products. The new hinged patio doors have low-e glass with white mini blinds between the glass. The new doors are smooth fiberglass on both sides. The new patio doors were a very nice addition to our customer's home.
The pantry door in this customer's home swung out into the kitchen area. Most of the time the door was left open and created an obstruction to get past in order to get into the pantry area. In lieu of the hinged door, a sliding door was used. The sliding door closes off the pantry area when not in use. When the sliding door is open, it is against the wall and does not intrude into the kitchen area. This door was a wonderful upgrade with the white laminated glass panels. The door handle that was used matched the existing cabinet door and drawer hardware.
This customer had a sliding glass door on the back of their home that had seen better days. The active panel was not sliding smoothly and they wanted to have a hinged patio door. The door that they selected is a single door with a pair of hinged sidelites. The sidelites open to allow fresh air into your home. There is also a screen on the exterior side of the sidelites so debris is not able to come into your home when the sidelites are open. Both the sidelites and the door have multipoint locking hardware for added security. Both of the sidelites and the door have white mini blinds between the glass as well.
This customer has a new home located in Henderson area. They had a 12' wide by 8' tall sliding glass door that the home builder had installed on the back of the home. There were four panels on this door. One on each side that was fixed or did not open. The two in the middle both opened. The customer did not like the operation of the door and their dogs had figured out how to open the sliding glass door. The hinged patio door that Nesco Construction specified for this project has smooth fiberglass on both sides that was painted. Each door panel has Low-e glass with white mini-blinds that are between the glass. The blinds are able to raise lower and tilt with one single control on the inside of each door. The two hinged door panels are in the center of the unit. One door is inactive and secure with a locking astragal. If the top and bottom pin are disengaged on the astragal, the inactive door will open. The active door is secured with a deadbolt lock. Nesco Construction matched the existing leverset style and finish with the door hardware that is located throughout the home. Our customer made the comment, "This is great! The door looks like it is part of the house. You were able to match the color of the window frames perfectly!" The dogs are not able to open the new door either.
The side garage door or pedestrian door on this customer's home had seen better days. The door was falling apart due to years of weather taking their toll on the wood. The jamb appeared to be for an interior application instead of an exterior application. There was no threshold, door sweep, or weatherstripping in place. This allowed weather to infiltrate into the garage area. A smooth fiberglass door was used for this application with an exterior jamb, weatherstripping, threshold, and door sweep. A sill pan flashing was also installed to keep water from entering the garage area. The new door also has a deadbolt lock and locking leverset for added security.
This customer was having issues with their double entry door. The inactive door was difficult to open due the astragal not operating properly. The active and inactive doors were not sealing properly to the weatherstripping. The existing doors did not have a door viewer or glass to let in any natural light. This caused the entry way on the interior side of the doors to be very dark. The new doors are smooth fiberglass so they will not warp, crack, split, or dent. There is no heat transfer with the fiberglass doors like there is with the old metal doors. There are low-e glass inserts in the top two panels of each door to allow in natural light. There is now a door viewer on the active door in order to see who is at the front door without opening the door. Overall our customer's requests were met. Nesco Construction has another satisfied customer for their entry door replacement project.
This customer had a unique request/concern. They moved into a new home that has a beautiful covered patio area on a large part of the back of their home. There are two openings that are on the South wall of the patio that they wanted to be able to close off from sunlight and wind but, also to have open when they wanted. The solution that we provided was to install a sliding door over each opening. This allows one or both of the openings to be open or closed when needed or wanted. There is a door guide installed at the bottom of each door to prevent the wind from blowing the doors back and forth from the wall. The project was a very nice addition to a beautiful home.
This customer has a beautiful set of entry doors that they thought they were going to have to replace due to the existing door hardware being broken and would not operate properly. The existing door hardware did not conform to the industry standards for the center to center measurement of the holes that are bored into the door for the hardware to be installed. After taking measurements of the existing door hardware and looking at the new door hardware that the customer would like to use, Nesco Construction was able to retrofit the existing doors for the new door hardware without any damage. This in turn saved the customer the expense of replacing the pair of doors. Changing our the doors would have also changed the entire entryway of their home and curb appeal as well. Now they have new door hardware that they will be able to enjoy for many years to come as well as their beautiful doors too.

This customer has an existing finished opening at the den area of his home. Customer wanted to add privacy to the area from the rest of the house. Nesco Construction met with and provided the idea of having sliding doors that could be hung from a track at the top of the opening and slide back and forth. The two doors on the outside have a track stop to where they will stay in place. The two middle doors slide back and forth for access to the area. Staining and finishing of the doors was not complete before the installation. This is why they are a different color than the rest of the wood shown in the picture.
This customer has a handleset on both the active and inactive doors on the front of their home. They were not happy with how the finish had become tarnished over time and inquired about replacing the handlesets. Parts are no longer available for this brand of handleset. The center to center boring is unique to the manufacturer and does not allow a different manufacturer’s product to be installed without modification to the doors. Nesco Construction suggested refinishing the exterior side of each handleset. The refinished handlesets look much better than the before picture. The process usually takes one week to be completed.
Faux wood beam. The beams come in different sizes 4” wide by 6” tall, 6” wide by 8” tall, and 8” wide by 10” tall. Lengths are available from 8’ up to 24’. Also in different wood types. The one shown is a 4” wide by 6” tall and is the cedar style of wood. Other wood types/grains available are redwood and elm. The manufacturer also offers beam straps for the different beam sizes. Beam straps are black in color and can have either a smooth or hammered finish look to them. In the picture shown, the beams were stained and finished before installation. Nesco Construction recommends that the staining/finishing or painting of the beams be completed before installation.
The before picture is the sliding glass door that was existing. The customer wanted to have a hinged patio door installed into the existing opening. She had a few different companies look at the project and they all told her that she would have to increase the size of the opening to accommodate new hinged patio doors. Nesco Construction looked at the project and recommended a hinged patio door that would fit into the existing opening. The doors each have a single lite of low-e glass and also have white mini blinds between the glass that raise lower and tilt. The after picture is the hinged patio door after installation was completed. The new patio door was painted before installation which enabled this project to be completed in one day.

The area of this new home downstairs was wide open. Customers wanted to utilize the space as a home office area that could be closed off from the rest of the house. Customer has a home office on the ground floor of a two story home. The opening to the office did not have any type of doors on it. When we looked at the project, the customer had already purchased a 48” by 96” pocket door from a popular door company in Utah. The door and pocket door frame had been shipped to the customer and were sitting in the garage. This opening was unique due to the width. The living room side of the wall was not disturb nor did any electrical outlets or switches end up needing to be moved. Definitely a unique pocket door application!

We were asked to look at the door with sidelites that they wanted to replace at their new home to provide some different options other than a hinged patio door that would open into the bedroom. The new sliding glass door is vinyl with super low-e glass due to the back of the house receiving a ton of afternoon sun. As you can see from the after picture, the new sliding glass door looks like it has always been a part of this home.
When our customer purchased this home, the exterior door in the master bedroom going out to the patio area was a solid door. They wanted to be able to add more light to the master bedroom.
Please contact Nesco Construction to provide you with an estimate for your new hinged patio door.

This customer had an existing hinged patio door that was installed when the house was built. They were having issues with the door not sealing properly and not having a threshold underneath the fixed panel side of the door. The after picture shows the new hinged patio door unit that the owner provided for the project. The customer elected to paint the new patio doors themselves.
This customer wanted to replace exterior doors on their home. Nesco Construction was able to supply and install a new entry door with a sidelite. New door and sidelite are fiberglass with a mahogany woodgrain. The doors have been stained on both sides with the manufacturer’s recommended stain kit to comply with their warranty. The new door and sidelite definitely increased the curb appeal of the our customer’s home. There was also a single exterior door on the back of the home that we replaced and a sliding glass door at the master bedroom that was replaced. The new doors are smooth fiberglass on both sides. We asked Sherwin Williams to match the stain color of the front door with paint for these two doors. Both doors have a multipoint lock in addition to the deadbolt lock for added security. Low-e glass. Customer also had an opening to their den/home office area that they wanted to put a set of interior doors into. We had to retrofit the opening and kept the arch at the top with supplying and installing a pair of hinged interior doors with decorative glass.
Nesco Construction was able to remove the wall at the hallway for the pocket to be installed for the door to slide into. The living room side of the wall was not disturb nor did any electrical outlets or switches end up needing to be moved. Definitely a unique pocket door application!
At this customer's home they were battling with older metal bi-fold doors on the laundry room and two bedroom closets. They wanted to have complete access to each opening with a pair of hinged doors. Nesco Construction was able to obtain measurements and have the doors custom built for the existing openings. The doors have a ball catch on the top of them to hold them shut. A dummy lever is on each door to be able to open it. The doors were painted before installation. The mirror bypass doors in the master bedroom were also replaced. The new doors have a white frame. Much better looking than the gold ones!
Customer purchased a new home and made some modifications to the interior to better utilize the space for their needs. They also wanted to have a double door for the entrance to their art studio. With this project, the owners supplied the new doors, casing, and hardware. Nesco Construction supplied the labor for the installation of the new doors. Customer opted to paint the new doors themselves.
This customer had brought in someone to build a pantry off of the kitchen in their home. The shelves inside, kitchen cabinets, and wood floor were all stained in a darker color. Nesco Construction was asked to provide a pair of oak interior doors for the entrance to the pantry. The new doors had to be stained and finished to match the existing stain color as close as possible. Before and after pictures show how we did. Customer was very happy with the end result and their custom made oak pantry doors. NOTE: It can take several months to obtain any custom made doors. Please keep this in mind for your next home repair project.
Customer obtained two different door slabs that they wanted to have painted and installed on existing door jambs for a home office and a bedroom. We were able to: pick up both, the old doors and new doors, match the paint colors that customer wanted to use for each door, and install the new doors onto the existing jambs. The glass in the new doors makes a huge difference compared to the old doors that were solid.

We provided hardware options to select from. Customers provides us with the paint colors that they wanted to use for the interior and exterior sides of the new doors. Please see in the before and after pictures.
At this residence there was an existing den that only had a finished opening. No doors to segregate the den/office from the rest of the home. Based on the size of the existing finished opening we had to retrofit the opening for a pair of doors to be installed into. The new pair of doors was then installed. Nesco Construction was able to match the new doors to the existing doors inside the home. The door hardware was also matched to the existing door hardware. Turned out fantastic! Looks like the new doors were always a part of the beautiful home.

Nesco Construction was contacted by the customers and advised that they would like to replace the door slab at the pantry as well as have a pair of doors installed on the den in order to provide privacy to anyone that would be in the den. An appointment was scheduled for us to obtain the information needed in order to provide an estimate for the new doors. The pantry door was changed from a production grade hollow core door to a door with a single lite of narrow reed glass. What a huge difference! The den went from being a finished opening to having a pair of doors installed that have a single lite of white laminated glass in each door. This allows light to pass through but, provides privacy also.
Customer has a den area inside of their newer home that they have made into a theater area. The opening into the den only had a cased opening without doors. Customer wanted to have a pair of French doors that would match the color of the cabinetry in the nearby kitchen. Nesco Construction was able to match the paint color by using one of the drawers from the kitchen. The door jamb and casing are still white in color to coordinate with the rest of the trim work. Now the new theater room has doors that can be shut while enjoying a movie. Or the doors can be left open when not in use.
This customer had a unique request. The opening to the master bathroom has an archway at the entrance.
Customer purchased a new home to downsize from a larger home. They were pretty shocked to find out that their builder did not have doors on the his and hers closest located inside of the master bathroom. Customer has a home office that had no doors on the entrance to the office. They wanted to be able to have the doors closed but, still be able to see what was going on at the same time. Nesco Construction suggested doors with a single light of clear glass in each door. What a difference! Now the office doors can be closed while business is being conducted during the day and the rest of the house still has the natural light coming in as well!

This customer had a pantry area built inside of their home with wood shelving by others. They were told that they would have a pair of interior doors on the opening but it never happened. Nesco Construction was contacted to look at the project. The opening size would not allow regular size doors to be used. A pair of doors were custom made with red oak at the customer’s request. Casing also in red oak that matched the profile of casing in the rest of their home was also used. Customer wanted to try to match the existing stain color that had been used on the kitchen cabinets and wood floor. After explaining to them that matching stain is not like matching paint and that we would try to get the color close but would not guarantee to match the color 100%, we all agreed to move forward with the project. As you will see in the after picture, the stain color matched better than expected. Customer now has doors on their pantry area.

At my own house, my wife wanted to do something different that would have a positive effect on the rest of the interior of our home. In the before picture you can see that there was a mantle shelf and niche area with a radius top that was removed. Needless to say there is definitely a huge positive effect on the immediate area around the fireplace as well as the interior of our home.

This customer had a unique request/concern. They moved into a new home that has a beautiful covered patio area on a large part of the back of their home.
